Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, sock jock's Taylor Brown grew up with music in her blood. After falling in love with a church piano as a child, Taylor began writing music constantly, and formed her first “band” when she was 8.
As time progressed, Taylor picked up more instruments and wholly developed her deep love for music as it carried her through life. She began by uploading her songs to SoundCloud before recording cover videos on YouTube.
Once Taylor began her studies at Purdue University, she decided it was time to move her music to major music platforms. She started her solo project, sock jock, in October of 2020. So far, Taylor’s ability to craft eclectic songs with melancholy lyrics has turned the heads of many people. Since her early days of piano playing, Taylor has learned quite a lot about songwriting and production. Her current project revolves around themes of heartbreak and recovery. Taylor writes, records, and produces all of her own music in her home studio.
