Dogs on Shady Lane is an indie rock band based out of Providence, RI and Brooklyn, NY. Blending elements of fuzz folk and slow-core, their sound is inspired by artists like Big Thief, Sylvan Esso, and Feist.
Songwriter and guitarist Tori Hall began Dogs on Shady Lane in 2018 as an independent creative exploration. Dogs on Shady Lane has since grown to include Rhode Island multi-instrumentalist Evan Weinstein (guitar/synth/vox), New York artist Calder Mansfield (bass/vox), and New York percussionist Grace Goss (drums) as of 2020. The now 4-piece band is known to create a dynamic yet intimate sonic live show — playing shows frequently in both RI & NYC scenes.
Working alongside recording engineer Brad Krieger at Big Nice Studio as well as James Keegan of the NY project ‘Kitchen,’ Dogs on Shady Lane has released 4 singles since 2020. Their most recent release “Cole St.,” has gained attention across platforms and landed a spot on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds Folk” playlist. Dogs on Shady Lane anticipates more music and touring to come in the fall.
